What a way to introduce STEPS to the US! The show was somewhat short, but very awesome! Steps performed some of their biggest hits with all the dance moves included and in between every song the Disney Channel interviewed the group on such topics as how they were formed, what they wanted to be when they were little (they even showed baby pictures!), and what each person thought of everyone else in the group. They even took to the Disneyland dressing room to try on different costumes from various movies! Some of their choices were very funny! All in all, the concert was fabulous and the interview section was way cool. They could have left out the Youngstown section of the show, but we can't always get what we want.

Songs performed in the concert:
Last Thing On My Mind
One For Sorrow
5 6 7 8 (In the behind-the-scenes look at them practicing this song, Lee couldn't remember the words! They had to get a Lyrics book. You'd think after singing it for 3 years he'd know it by now!)
Say You'll Be MIne
Love's Got A Hold On My Heart
Tragedy

What did they want to be when they were little?
Lisa said she had always wanted to be a pop-star!
Faye wanted to be a ballerina
H wanted to be a Veternarian
Lee of course wanted to be a soccer (football) player
Claire wanted to be a chef

Trying on some costumes! Each person picked one they liked and then they each picked one for someone else in the group:
H- he picked the costume Adam Sandler wore in the "Waterboy"
Lisa picked a bunny costume for him to wear...HAHA.. he even wiggled his nose!
Lisa- she picked the Tinkerbell costume worn by Julia Roberts in "Hook"!
Claire dressed her up like a cheerleader
Lee- he could have walked on the moon in his Spaceman uniform
H decided to let someone else be the "clown" of the group this time..Lee
Faye- she chose the dress Bette Midler wore in "Hocus Pocus"
Lee turned her into an Indian girl!
Claire- she wore the angel costume worn by Claire Daines in "Romeo and Juliet"
Faye got her to wear the Godmother dress worn by Whitney Houston in "Cinderella"

Some Highlights of the Special
They went to the beach! H chased Claire around with some sea-weed, Claire collected some sea shells, Lee tried his hand at "Muscle Beach," a workout area on Venice Beach, Faye got her palm read (she will live into her late 80's), and Lisa got some hand tatoo art. They also sang "Tragedy" with a street musician!

**QUICK FACTS FROM THE INTERVIEW SECTION**
--Faye studied art in school!
--Lee loves his "mum" very much. Faye overheard him at their audition for Steps talking to his mom on the cell phone and he told her that he loved her!
--Youngstown taught Steps some hand motions that are truely American!
--Claire stated that the US is the last country in the world to recieve Steps! The group wanted to make sure they could make it in other countries and be successful before they tried their hand at becoming popular here in the US. She said they wanted to have a story to tell when they got here. We'll be sure to give them a warm welcome!

YOUR STEPS IN CONCERT REVIEWS

Meredith From Alabama, USA
I had never heard of STEPS until I saw them on Disney, and after that I went and bought their US cd. Even though they cut most of the songs short during the concert, it was still teriffic. I really like STEPS and think they have awesome voices and hope that they come to the US and do some concerts.

Zack from Pennsylvania, USA
The concert was great, it is great to see them on US television. They started out with a very well done performance of LAST THING ON MY MIND. And then they cut it off and went to an interview and explained how they got their name and stuff like that. Then they went to a dazzling performance of ONE FOR SORROW at least they didn't cut it off in the middle. Then they went to the costume department and picked outfits for each other and for there selves and then they went in to 5678. Which was rather good. But they cut it off....AGAIN!!!!! Then they went in to a performance of SAY YOU'LL BE MINE and yet it again, cut off. After that they went into a performance of my favorite LOVE'S GOT A HOLD ON MY HEART. Which was sweeeeeeet. Then while they were on the streets they met this dude and he started playing his guitar. And they sang to TRAGEDY. After, they went in to a Steptacular performance of the #1 hit da da da da da da daaaaaa TRAGEDY!!! Then they went into all that crp about Youngstown. So all in all it was a very good concert.

That was a great concert. I've heard of them before but that was the first time i have ever seen them sing! They were excellent. After I saw the concert I went out and bought their us album and singles. I instantly became a fan!

Charlie from Illinios, USA
It was a great concert even though they did lip sink a lot of it. Lisa and H were the only ones that didn't. I didn't care they were lip sinking though! I was just so happy to see them on American TV.

The STEPS Disney Concert Has been something that has been highly anticipated by American STEPS fans, finally a chance to see their fave group in action! As well as the big promotional boost they need to make it in the US and make them well known. (We have to remember that in concert specials made 'Nsync, who are now a major dominating force in the American music scene known to many people who had not known them before and established a large fan base) STEPS more than likely took this into account and gave us all a great show. Now the question on everybody's minds is, "Did they sing live?" And I am more than happy to announce thatthe concert was done 100% live with a band, (There is hope for a live band in May then! - Matt) and sounded great. Their dances were done at a slightly slower pace so they wouldn't run out of breath but it still looked marvelous! OK, now to the concert. Most of the songs were cut short seeing as to how they had interviews with the band in-between each song so they could get better acquainted with the public! The concert started off fabulously with a wonderful performance of "Last Thing On My Mind". During the dance break in the song they moved on to the interview with the group they talked about how they were put
together, why they have the name STEPS, and why they waited so long to come to America, and as Claire explained "They wanted to come to America with a story to tell". After this wonderful introduction to STEPS the convert came on with a performance of the UK version of "One For Sorrow", which was edited to make it shorter but included all the highlights and showed all the fans doing the dance STEPS! They then went on to talk about each other and their thoughts on one another and were then put into the Disney costume department and set lose to pick out a costume for themselves and one for each other. H picked out the costume Adam Sandler wore in the Waterboy, Faye Bette Midler's outfit from Hocus Pocus, Lisa was Tinkerbell from the film Hook, and Claire was an Angel, and Lee a Spaceman. When they were done having their few laughs they changed and put on clothes they chose for each other. H dressed Lee up as a clown, Lisa got H into a bunny rabbit costume, Lee dressed Faye like a little Indian girl, Claire dressed Lisa like a cheerleader and, Faye Claire like Whitney Huston from the TV movie "Cinderella". After wards they moved on to do "5, 6, 7, 8" once again live and the live band gave it a little more of a western feeling but sounded perfect! Then again they went back to talking to the band, they talked about when they first met each other and what their opinions on each other were, and then went on to perform "Say You'll Be Mine". It was obvious that the audience were enjoying it, and trying to keep up with the dance steps and follow along with the group. Once again cutting the song short they went back to the STEPS interview and they all went to do things they liked to do, Lee was working out at Muscle Beach, Lisa got some Henna tattoo's on her hand, and Faye got her palm read. Then as the group was walking down the beach an odd man on skates and a guitar starts following them and they stop for a chit chat with him before moving to a fab live performance of "Love's Got A Hold On My Heart" again with the live band giving it some kick! Then once more to the interview where they talked about what they wanted to be when they grew up! And once again with the man on skates they sang Tragedy Acapella with the odd man playing the guitar for them and it sounded flawless. And finally they gave the show a steptastic finish performing their current US single "Tragedy"! The show was overall amazing with them wearing white outfits throughout the entire thing and looking fab. It more than likely has the kick to give STEPS a rather broader fan base in America and hopefully get them to chart. Now if for the STEPTACULAR arena tour they sing with a band and live like they did here you guys are in for a real treat!
